You know I absolutely love summer. It’s perhaps the time of the year where I share some of my favorite music. It’s also perhaps the period where I get the most enjoyment in doing so. However, with all that’s going on in the world, I’m not immune to how different this summer feels. It’s this summer feeling that I tried to capture in my latest Digging Deep mix for LYL Radio.
You see, this particular season, in between the times I’ve escaped to swim outside or just grabbed some socially distant fresh air, I’ve had many personal things to contemplate, meditate, and reflect on during those bits of freedom. This year has been deeply affecting in ways one can never prepare for. These changes haven’t so much tainted this year’s experience as colored it in different, deeper hues that find their ways to blend in.
I couldn’t see myself sharing music that ignored these feelings. If not now, when can I share stuff like this?
So, come roll with me. Roll for an hour in these feelings: a different touch of summer.
